How to share photos with clients — a gallery that matches the work

The problem with raw folder links

When you finish a shoot, the easiest move is to drop files into a Google Drive or Dropbox folder and paste the link into an email. It works — technically. But what clients see is a file browser: small thumbnails, cryptic filenames, no context that this came from a professional. WeTransfer is tidier, but the link expires after a week and there is no password protection.

The delivery experience is the last impression you leave. A raw folder link says "here are some files." A gallery says "here is your work."

Three steps to a polished gallery

Filolio turns any shareable Google Drive or Dropbox folder into a clean, password-protected gallery — without moving your files anywhere.

  1. 1. Make your folder shareable. In Google Drive, right-click the folder and set access to “Anyone with the link.” In Dropbox, copy the shared folder link. No other settings to change.
  2. 2. Paste the link into Filolio. Create a gallery, give it a title, and optionally add a password. That's it — no uploading, no waiting.
  3. 3. Send clients the gallery URL. They get a full-screen masonry grid, smooth lightbox navigation, and a download button. Your branding, not a file browser.

Full-size originals — no compromise

Some gallery tools re-encode your images on the way in, trading quality for cheaper hosting. Filolio never touches your files. Every photo loads directly from Google's or Dropbox's own CDN at the exact resolution and quality you uploaded. When a client clicks download, they get the original — not a web-optimised copy.

Clients need no app and no account to view or download. Open the link, enter the password if there is one, and browse. As straightforward as a WeTransfer link, but one that doesn't expire and actually looks like your work.

Common questions

Do my clients need to create an account?
No. Clients open a link, enter a password if you set one, and browse the gallery. No sign-up, no app download, nothing to install.
Are the photos delivered at full resolution?
Yes. Every image links directly from your Google Drive or Dropbox folder at its original size. Nothing is compressed or re-encoded — clients download exactly what you uploaded.
Is it really free?
Your photos stay in your own folder — we store nothing, so there's no storage bill to pass on. Filolio is free for up to 20 galleries.
What happens if I add more photos to the folder after I share the link?
The gallery updates automatically. New files appear the next time a client loads the page — no need to re-share the link or rebuild anything.
